Construction Superintendent II – Public Works

About the role

Edwards Construction Group is seeking a seasoned Construction Superintendent II to lead complex public‑works projects across California. The role involves full ownership of one or more job sites, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, budget control and high‑quality delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead one or more active public‑works projects with annual billings typically exceeding $10 M.
• Prepare, maintain and update a 3‑week look‑ahead schedule weekly, track progress and identify delay sources.
• Collaborate with project managers to document, mitigate and communicate delays to owners and architects.
• Utilize Procore on an iPad daily for RFIs, submittals, schedules, observations, daily logs, change events, commitments, inspections and punch lists.
• Navigate BIM models and Trimble Connect, providing assistance and training to team members.
• Support creation and updating of Gantt‑chart schedules, manage submittals and oversee PCOs/CCOs from pricing through final change orders.
• Maintain comprehensive daily logs covering manpower, equipment, deliveries, visitors and safety observations.
• Enforce site safety and compliance, fostering a culture of safety across all trades.
• Protect confidentiality of project financials and strategic information.
• Mentor crew members, handling stress with calm, solution‑oriented leadership.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience on large‑scale public‑works or commercial construction sites.
• Strong understanding of construction field operations, budgeting and scheduling.
• Commitment to safety and ability to cultivate a collaborative site environment.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
