Construction Resident Engineer (NICET IV) – Bridge Projects

About the role

Prudent Engineering is seeking a Construction Resident Engineer with bridge experience to oversee and inspect bridge construction projects in the Syracuse, NY area starting July 2026. The role involves ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and regulations while working the same hours as the contractor.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and inspect bridge construction at various stages to verify compliance with plans and specifications.
• Coordinate with contractors, maintain project documentation, and report findings to stakeholders.

Required profile

• NICET IV certification or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in bridge construction inspection, preferably with NY State DOT or Thruway projects.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Required skills

• NICET IV certification.
• OSHA 10 certification and knowledge of construction site safety procedures.
• Proficiency in computer‑aided project administration tools.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to construction sites.
