Construction Laborer – Heavy Construction Projects

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Construction Laborer to support heavy construction projects. The role involves performing physical labor, operating a variety of hand and power tools, and assisting skilled tradespeople on site.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards.
• Signal equipment operators to align and move machinery safely.
• Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact earth to grade specifications.
• Load, unload, and distribute construction materials, machinery, and tools according to verbal instructions.
• Operate jackhammers, saws, drills, and other power tools to break rock, concrete, or pavement.
• Transport and tend pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power for tools and equipment.
• Operate equipment that pumps concrete, grout, cement, sand, and aggregate.

Required profile

• Ability to work around underground utility lines safely.
• Comfort climbing stairs, slopes, and ladders to access machines and trenches.
• Physical capacity to lift 40‑70 lb objects regularly.
• Clear verbal communication with supervisors and coworkers.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Required skills

• Operation of air hammers, earth tampers, compactors, and other hand/power tools.
• Use of surveying and measuring equipment.
• Proficiency with jackhammers, saws, drills, and pneumatic tampers.
• Handling of pumps, compressors, and generators.
• Experience loading/unloading materials using wheelbarrows, shovels, and picks.
