Construction Estimating Internship

About the role

The Estimating Intern will work closely with the Estimating Department to develop cost estimates for new and existing construction projects. This role involves creating material and labor lists, analyzing data, and supporting risk assessments across various nationwide locations.

Key responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications, perform quantity takeoffs for assigned scopes.
• Solicit and compile quotes from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Prepare project maps and exhibits using Bluebeam and Google Earth.
• Assist in analyzing budgets and pricing with HSCC HeavyBid.
• Support cost estimate reviews, labor and material research, and risk assessments.
• Attend estimate coordination meetings and record detailed minutes.

Required profile

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Strong mathematics abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and technical documents.
