Computer Information Systems Adjunct Instructor

About the role

Provide instruction in Computer Information Systems at West Georgia Technical College as an adjunct instructor, delivering theory and practical applications in classroom, lab, or field environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver course syllabi, lectures, labs, and assessments in accordance with state academic standards.
• Evaluate student progress, grade coursework promptly, and maintain required documentation and reports.
• Collaborate with faculty to define and assess student learning outcomes and support recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
• Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the discipline area.
• Meet with students, staff, and other educators to discuss instructional programs and related issues.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Programming, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline.
• Knowledge of postsecondary technical education mission, academic course standards, and current trends in the discipline.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to break larger tasks into manageable smaller tasks.

Required skills

• Proficiency in operating computers and job‑related software programs used for instruction.
• Ability to prepare and deliver classroom/lab content, grade assignments, and manage supplies and equipment.
