Composite Technician I

About the role

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is seeking a Composite Technician I to join its Mobile, AL manufacturing facility. The role involves inspecting, repairing, and documenting composite parts and components in compliance with FAA, EASA, and Transport Canada regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Self‑inspect finished parts and components and maintain accurate work logs.
• Perform composite repairs, including mold work, wet and prepreg lay‑up, and re‑work of existing structures.
• Use measuring devices and tools to verify part dimensions against documentation.
• Maintain on‑hand stock levels and assist with material handling tasks.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical or vocational training in composites (apprenticeship or institutional).
• Three or more years of hands‑on experience with aerospace or equivalent composites.
• Proficient English communication skills.

Required skills

• Ability to read and interpret blueprint and drawing types.
• Composite repair techniques (molds, wet lay‑up, prepreg).
• Use of precision measuring tools (vernier scales, etc.).
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and work in confined spaces.
