Community Assistant - Student Living

About the role

This Community Assistant role supports the property management team at Hillside Commons, a student living community, in reaching occupancy and retention goals. It covers administrative tasks for leasing, marketing and customer service, and is paid at $16.00-$17.00 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Perform leasing office administration: copy documents, file resident files, prepare notices, handle resident calls and organize rent payments and collateral.
• Support sales and leasing by running virtual tours, answering online inquiries, greeting and qualifying prospects, giving property tours and showing apartments.
• Prepare lease paperwork and organize resident lease files.
• Help with move-in and move-out processes; move-in and move-out days are mandatory and require advance written approval for time off.
• Answer calls, set up prospect appointments and run on-campus marketing outreach.
• Coordinate resident functions such as parties, birthday cards and unit visits, and schedule and distribute notices like flyers, newsletters and late notices.
• Act as an after-hours liaison, responding to emergencies promptly; at least one on-call shift per week is expected, with a schedule set at the site level.
• Respond quickly and courteously to resident concerns and escalate requests to the right people.

Required profile

• Able to stand, walk and sit for long periods, and to bend, climb ladders, reach, carry objects and crawl in confined spaces.
• Able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather, and to lift up to 25 pounds alone and 50 pounds with help.
• Flexible schedule, including call duty on evenings, weekends and holidays; occasional travel to other properties or training may be required.

• Hourly pay of $16.00-$17.00, depending on experience, skills and location.
