About the role
The Ted and Donna Lyon Center for Gamebird Research at East Texas A&M University is seeking a highly motivated and creative Communications and Outreach Coordinator. This role will develop, manage, and advance the center’s communications and outreach program while promoting its mission to discover sustainable gamebird solutions and train future professionals.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy for the Lyon Center.
- Create and manage content for the center’s website, newsletters, and social media channels.
- Coordinate outreach events, workshops, and public‑engagement activities.
- Collaborate with researchers and faculty to translate scientific findings into accessible messages.
- Maintain relationships with media outlets and handle press inquiries.
Required profile
- Highly motivated and creative individual with a strong interest in gamebird research and sustainability.
- Self‑directed leader capable of managing outreach initiatives and collaborating with academic staff.
