Director of Marketing & Communications

About the role

The Texas A&M Innovation division seeks a senior leader to shape its brand, drive demand generation, and communicate the impact of research commercialization. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Marketing & Communications will guide strategy and execution across inventor outreach, technology marketing, and ecosystem storytelling.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive brand and messaging strategy for Texas A&M Innovation.
• Lead demand‑generation campaigns targeting industry partners, investors, and the broader public.
• Oversee communications that highlight technology transfer successes, startup formation, and ecosystem development.
• Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and external stakeholders to translate complex scientific work into compelling narratives.
• Manage a team of marketing and communications professionals, ensuring high‑quality content and consistent brand voice.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in marketing and communications, preferably within higher‑education or research‑driven environments.
• Demonstrated ability to craft strategic messaging for both scientific and commercial audiences.
• Strong leadership and team‑building skills with a results‑oriented mindset.
