Communications Associate

About the role

The Communications Associate will help convey Compass Family Services’ mission and impact to diverse audiences. Working closely with the Director of Communications, you will create compelling content, manage digital channels, and support brand consistency.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and produce written and visual content for blogs, newsletters, social media, flyers, signage, presentations, and reports.
• Maintain and update the website, email platform, and social media accounts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with brand voice.
• Track web and social media analytics, providing regular reports and insights.
• Support media relations by maintaining media lists, tracking coverage, and coordinating interview logistics.
• Manage the communications calendar, coordinate with internal teams, and assist with Google Ads performance.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of experience in digital media, communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
• Exceptional writing and grammar skills with a persuasive style.
• Demonstrated understanding of homelessness challenges and a passion for supporting low‑income families.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

What we offer

• Hourly pay of $34‑$37 (approximately $66‑$72k annually) based on a 37.5‑hour week.
• 4 weeks of vacation in the first year, increasing to 5 weeks in the second year, plus paid holidays, sick time, and family leave.
