Combat Skills Medical Instructor

About the role

The Combat Skills Medical Instructor delivers medical and explosive‑device training to military personnel at Joint Base McGuire‑Dix, supporting the USAF Expeditionary Operations School (EOS). The role combines classroom instruction, field demonstrations, and range safety management.

Key responsibilities

• Transport, set up, and operate explosive training devices and related equipment on base ranges.
• Conduct classroom and field instruction on combat medical skills, including CPR, AED use, and emergency care.
• Serve as Range Safety Officer, maintaining compliance with Ft Dix range safety regulations.
• Manage inventory, issue, and documentation of training devices and medical supplies.
• Record instructional hours and ensure adherence to Community College of the Air Force accreditation standards.
• Prepare and maintain classroom technology (projectors, computers, training software) for each lesson.
• Provide logistical support such as student transport, gear issue, and vehicle operation for training missions.

Required profile

• Minimum four years of military medical experience (e.g., IDMT, Combat Medic, Corpsman) with deployed combat support.
• Current medical credential – licensed paramedic, RN, PA, MD, or active EMT certification.
• Valid firearms qualification and ability to possess weapons per DoD regulations.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate military vehicles (HMMWV, MRAP, LMTV, etc.).
• Current American Heart Association CPR/AED certification.
• Associate degree or higher in any field of study.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to use Adobe Acrobat for document handling.
• Competence in handling and transporting explosive training devices safely.
• Range safety operations and compliance with military safety pamphlets.
• Medical emergency response skills, including CPR and AED use.
• Operation of military vehicles and logistical support equipment.
