College Admissions Worker

About the role

The College Admissions Worker provides front‑line support in the Admissions Office, assisting students, faculty, staff and visitors. This entry‑level position is part of the Federal Work‑Study program and offers a chance to develop customer‑service and administrative skills in a higher‑education environment.

Key responsibilities

• Greet visitors, determine their needs and direct them to appropriate personnel.
• Answer, screen and route telephone calls courteously and efficiently.
• Deliver accurate messages and handle inquiries in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean, organized office space and manage routine tasks such as filing, ordering supplies, shredding documents and processing mail.
• Perform data‑entry, typing and other administrative support duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Self‑starter with excellent interpersonal and customer‑service abilities.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented and able to follow directions.
• Professional appearance and strong verbal communication skills.
• High school diploma or GED, financial need and Pell‑eligible, currently enrolled at the campus, and maintaining satisfactory academic progress.

Required skills

• Knowledge of proper phone etiquette and phone‑system operation.
• Ability to use copy and fax machines.
