Collections Strategy Analyst

About the role

Barclays is hiring a Collections Strategy Analyst in Wilmington, Delaware, within its Data & Analytics business area. The analyst develops, optimises and guides collection strategies, reviews large volumes of operational and customer data to evaluate strategy effectiveness, and turns findings into actionable business recommendations. The role works closely with Operations, Risk, Compliance, Legal and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Extract meaningful insights from complex data sets, build robust decision models and present recommendations to stakeholders across departments.
• Identify and extract relevant data from internal and external sources.
• Perform sensitivity analysis and scenario planning.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing models.
• Develop and implement data quality control procedures.
• Build and validate quantitative models to support decision-making across business areas.

Required profile

• Experience in analytics, strategy, data science or a related field, preferably in financial services.
• Ability to cover communication and stakeholder guidance, collaborating across Operations, Risk, Compliance and Legal.
• Some highly valued skills: collections strategy or collections operations, customer contact strategy development, consumer banking, credit risk, delinquency or financial services experience.
• Assessment may cover risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology skills.

Required skills

• SQL, Python and/or SAS, including data extraction, manipulation and evaluation.
• Evaluating large datasets and turning detailed findings into business and strategy recommendations.
• Developing and optimising data-driven strategies, including testing, experimentation or performance measurement.
