CNC Mill Machinist (Temp-to-Hire)

About the role

Enerstaff is hiring a CNC Mill Machinist (temp-to-hire) in Houston, Texas, within its Production & Manufacturing department. The machinist sets up, machines and produces complex production parts on a CNC mill to high-tolerance design specifications, accurately, on time and cost-effectively. The shift runs 5am to 1:30pm, starting as soon as possible.

Key responsibilities

• Study blueprints, drawings, schematics, engineering information or sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances and the best method and sequence of operations.
• Independently set up and operate CNC mills, selecting the right tools, machines and materials.
• Perform quality control on the CNC mill, including offset adjustment, and measure, examine and test finished parts for defects.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments and materials, and monitor feed and speed during machining.
• Diagnose machine malfunctions and recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance and product quality.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of machining experience with a CNC mill.
• Fluent reading, writing and speaking of English.
• Dependable, detailed-oriented, able to multitask, prioritize and adapt to a changing production schedule.

Required skills

• Use of precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
• Knowledge of Fanuc controls and G, D & T programming.
• Ability to set up a machine and run a job with minimal supervision.
