CNC Machine Tool Field Service Engineer

About the role

Morris Group, Inc., a third-generation family-owned machine tool distributor serving manufacturers of precision machined parts in the United States, is hiring a CNC Machine Tool Field Service Engineer in Cincinnati. The engineer installs, repairs and maintains machine tool equipment and controls (such as Fanuc and Siemens) bought by customers, working independently to deliver high-quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain machine tool equipment and controls.
• Improve equipment and carry out preventative maintenance.
• Provide technical support and training to customers.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues and communicate their status clearly.
• Complete detailed service and installation reports and follow through on customer commitments.
• Maintain relationships with machine tool vendors and other third-party vendors.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED from a technical school; an associate's degree in a related field is preferred.
• One to three years of experience with CNC machines and controls.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and ability to travel up to 50% of the week, including some overnight travel.
• Must provide basic hand tools for electrical/mechanical repair at own cost.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance, work in tight spaces and wear PPE in industrial environments.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics, manuals and diagrams.
• Troubleshooting skills, attention to detail and technical aptitude.
• Strong written and verbal communication and customer service focus.
