CNC Machine Operator – 2nd Shift

About the role

We are looking for a CNC Machine Operator to work the 2nd shift at our York, PA plant. The position involves operating a CNC‑controlled horizontal machining center with a rotary table, handling complex tooling and ensuring high‑quality production of industrial HVAC equipment for Navy vessels.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the CNC horizontal machining center, including tool changes, part probing, and adaptive control.
• Load and unload production parts, perform fixture change‑overs, and conduct on‑line inspections.
• Maintain tooling, monitor control messages, and take corrective actions as needed.
• Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Complete preventive‑maintenance checklists and assist with machine upkeep.

Required profile

• Ability to read shop prints, process sheets, and program tapes.
• 1–2 years of experience or equivalent trades training with N/C controlled machines.
• US citizenship required for Federal Defense contract work.
• Capability to perform moderate physical effort with light to average weight materials.

Required skills

• CNC machine operation (horizontal boring mills, SNK, Mori Seiki preferred).
• Tool presetting and use of automatic tool change systems.
• Precision measurement using ID/OD micrometers up to 130", calipers up to 130", parallels, depth and height gauges.
