CNA Med Surg Nights - Part Time

About the role

AdventHealth in Hendersonville, North Carolina is hiring a part-time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for its medical-surgical unit on night shifts. The CNA provides patient care under the direction of a registered nurse, following policies and procedures and working as part of a team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform treatments according to policy and procedure, giving patient care suited to age, mobility, acuity and culture
• Respond appropriately in clinical emergencies
• Follow isolation guidelines, use protective equipment correctly, wash hands and enforce safety regulations
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and the healthcare team
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
• Assist in delivering patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse
• Document and report procedures, help obtain a nursing history and report abnormalities to the RN
• Participate in practice changes and quality improvement, and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent (required)
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), or NHA CPCT/A, NCCT NCPCT, AMCA PCT-C, or EMT certification (required)
• Basic Life Support / CPR certification (required)
• Preferred: 1+ years of applicable PCT experience and previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician or equivalent medical experience
