CNA Emergency Department - Midshift

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) for its emergency department in Hendersonville, North Carolina, working midshift days. The CNA provides patient care under the direction of a registered nurse, following policies and procedures and taking part in quality improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Perform treatments according to policy and procedure, giving patient care suited to age, mobility, acuity and culture
• Respond appropriately to clinical emergencies
• Follow isolation guidelines, use protective equipment correctly, wash hands and enforce safety regulations
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and the healthcare team
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
• Assist in delivering patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse
• Document and report procedures and obtain a nursing history, reporting abnormalities to the registered nurse
• Participate in practice changes from performance improvement activities and support quality standards
• Learn continuously and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or NHA CPCT/A, NCCT NCPCT, AMCA PCT-C, or EMT certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification
• Preferred: 1+ years of applicable PCT experience and previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician or equivalent
