Clinical Technician – Neuro Transitional Care Stepdown

About the role

The Clinical Technician provides direct patient care on the Neuro Transitional Care Unit, supporting neurological med/surg patients who require stepdown and intermediate levels of care. The role works day shifts from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, alternating weekends and holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with vital signs, weight, personal care, activities of daily living, and patient transfers.
• Perform point‑of‑care testing, dressing changes, apply and remove external monitoring devices, and manage urinary Foley catheters.
• Report abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings to the supervising RN.
• Help maintain clean and orderly patient rooms.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross) within the new‑hire period.
• At least one year of recent full‑time patient‑care experience (or equivalent military medical experience).
• Ability to perform full‑body motions, lift patients, and stand for extended periods.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience with intracranial pressure monitoring, seizure monitoring, lumbar punctures, and central/arterial line placements.
• Proficiency in pulse oximetry and point‑of‑care testing.
