Clinical Technician – Emergency Department (ED)

About the role

The Clinical Technician works in the Emergency Department of Euclid Hospital, providing basic patient care, maintaining a clean environment, and supporting the nursing team during evening shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal care, take vital signs, weight, and perform point‑of‑care testing.
• Conduct dressing changes, patient transfers, and apply external monitoring devices.
• Perform phlebotomy, 12‑lead ECGs, and remove urinary Foley catheters.
• Report abnormal findings to the supervising RN and keep patient rooms orderly.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• One year of recent full‑time patient‑care experience or equivalent (nursing student, military corpsman, or related training).
• Ability to lift patients, stand for long periods, and meet medium‑work physical demands.

Required skills

• Vital signs measurement and weight assessment.
• Point‑of‑care testing and dressing change techniques.
• Patient transfer and transport procedures.
• Use of external monitoring devices.
• Phlebotomy, 12‑lead ECG acquisition, and urinary Foley catheter removal.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
