Clinical Pharmacist – Pain Management

About the role

Join the multidisciplinary pain management team at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune as a Clinical Pharmacist. This full‑time, onsite position supports the health and readiness of active‑duty service members, veterans, and their families by providing expert pharmacotherapeutic care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct medication reviews, reconciliation, and develop treatment strategies for chronic pain patients, including those with histories of non‑compliance, abuse, or diversion.
• Perform clinical interviews with patients, families, and caregivers to design individualized pharmacotherapy plans.
• Prescribe and manage pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic interventions, including auricular acupuncture, in accordance with MTF policy.
• Collaborate with physicians to provide drug‑therapy recommendations, manage polypharmacy, and order/evaluate laboratory tests for therapeutic monitoring.
• Educate patients and caregivers on medication use, non‑drug therapies, self‑monitoring, and promote adherence using compliance aids.

Required profile

• Licensed pharmacist with hands‑on clinical experience, preferably in pain‑management settings.
• Ability to work effectively within a high‑tempo, multidisciplinary military treatment facility.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapeutics, polypharmacy management, and patient counseling for complex or at‑risk populations.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Auricular acupuncture proficiency
