About the role
The school nurse provides health services to students, delivering classroom health education, emergency care, and managing health records within the school environment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver classroom instruction and individual health counseling to students.
- Provide emergency care for illnesses or injuries during school hours following first‑aid guidelines.
- Maintain accurate health information and documentation.
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to interpret student health status.
- Participate in developing, managing, and evaluating a comprehensive school health program.
Required profile
- U.S. citizenship with proof required.
- Male applicants born after Dec 31 1959 must complete Selective Service certification.
- Successful completion of a background investigation, including Tier 1 investigation and Childcare Checks.
- Eligibility for random drug testing and signing of DA Form 5019.
- Ability to meet suitability/fitness determination.
Required skills
- NCLEX certification and active, unrestricted nursing license.
- First‑aid training and emergency care competence.
