Clinical Pharmacist – Oncology (Inpatient, Pediatric)

About the role

The Thomas Campus of Phoenix Children’s is seeking an experienced Inpatient Clinical Pharmacist to join the oncology team. This full‑time position focuses on pediatric patients, from neonates to young adults, providing comprehensive medication management for children undergoing cancer treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify medication orders for therapeutic appropriateness based on age, weight, labs, and diagnosis.
• Screen and manage clinical alerts such as allergies, drug interactions, duplications, and adverse drug reactions.
• Collaborate with prescribers to recommend alternative therapies when needed.
• Prepare and dispense sterile and non‑sterile medications in compliance with state, federal, and institutional regulations.
• Document clinical interventions to meet cost‑containment and evidence‑based therapy goals.
• Support formulary management in line with Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee directives.

Required profile

• Licensed pharmacist in Arizona.
• Experience in pediatric pharmacy; pediatric oncology experience preferred.
• Completion of an ASHP‑accredited PGY1 residency preferred.
• Ability to work 8‑hour shifts with variable days, including weekends.
