Clinical Pharmacist – Inpatient PRN

About the role

The Inpatient Clinical Pharmacist provides patient‑centered medication services at Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital, ensuring accurate, timely, and safe prescription handling for hospitalized patients.

Key responsibilities

• Verify and dispense medication orders in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Document all pharmacy services accurately and promptly.
• Maintain pharmacy operations in line with national accreditation standards.
• Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and patients.

Required profile

• PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (or eligibility for reciprocity within 90 days).
• Inpatient pharmacy experience.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS and/or PALS certification required within one year of hire.
• Completion of an immunization administration course or certification within 90 days, if applicable.

Required skills

• Pharmacy dispensing and order verification.
• Knowledge of federal and state medication regulations.
• Ability to perform medication dosing calculations.
• Proficiency in documenting clinical interventions.
