Clinical Engineering Imaging Technician II

About the role

The Clinical Engineering (CE) Imaging Technician II works on Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus, providing independent diagnosis, repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance of advanced imaging equipment across multiple modalities.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze system failures of medical imaging devices and perform repairs according to manufacturer protocols within SLA timeframes.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on complex systems and develop site‑specific maintenance procedures.
• Inspect incoming new equipment, document status in the CMMS database, and ensure readiness for clinical use.
• Serve as an enterprise resource, offering technical expertise and cross‑training to fellow technicians.
• Communicate equipment serviceability status and progress updates to clinical staff and senior leaders.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering Technology, or equivalent military training.
• Two years of Cleveland Clinic CE Imaging Tech I experience, or four years of experience with X‑ray, CT, MRI, LINAC, or related imaging equipment.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lb, climb ladders, work in confined and darkened areas, and use PPE as required.

Required skills

• Diagnostic and repair skills for X‑ray, interventional radiology, CT, MRI, and linear accelerator equipment.
• Preventive maintenance planning and execution.
• CMMS documentation and equipment inspection.
• Radiological service training from OEMs or equivalent certification.
