About the role

The Clinical Assistant I (LPN) works in the Pulmonary Intensivists Clinic at Indian River Hospital, providing direct patient care and supporting the nursing team. This full‑time, day‑shift position offers the chance to work with state‑of‑the‑art technology in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care, including accurate medication administration and documentation.
• Perform pain‑management assessments, patient teaching, and follow‑up under RN/physician supervision.
• Recognize changes in patient status and promptly report to the Charge Nurse or physicians.
• Maintain complete, up‑to‑date patient records and complete required forms such as authorizations and lab requisitions.
• Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals, Code Blue protocol, and infection‑control standards.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program.
• Current Florida LPN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or Red Cross.
• One year of clinical experience preferred.
• Ability to perform physical duties such as lifting up to 50 lb and moving patients.

Required skills

• Medication administration.
• Computer literacy for electronic medical records.
• Knowledge of infection‑control practices.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
