Clinical Account Specialist – Puerto Rico

About the role

The Clinical Account Specialist (CAS) will support the launch and growth of Ionis’s first wholly owned commercial product in Puerto Rico, focusing on severe hypertriglyceridemia (SHTG) and related cardiometabolic diseases.

Key responsibilities

• Educate healthcare professionals (HCPs) and office staff on SHTG disease state, diagnostic pathways, and treatment urgency.
• Develop and execute territory strategic account plans to maximize business opportunities and customer satisfaction.
• Gather market insights, profile accounts, and provide feedback to field leadership and marketing.
• Participate in scientific meetings and conferences to disseminate disease state information.

Required profile

• Valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of pharma sales experience, including new product launches and account‑based selling.
• Experience engaging HCPs and integrated delivery networks (IDNs) in cardiology, endocrinology, or related specialties.
• Established relationships with key opinion leaders and major accounts.

Required skills

• Strong clinical knowledge of cardiometabolic and lipid‑related diseases, especially severe hypertriglyceridemia.
• Ability to analyze market data and develop territory strategies.
