Claims Representative

About the role

McGriff Specialty, a division of Marsh McLennan Agency, is hiring a Claims Representative in Greensboro. The role supports the claims process for business and personal insurance, advising customers on what information is needed to file a claim and keeping them informed on claim status.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain the specific information about a loss or claim needed to report it to the company.
• Advise customers on the information required to file a claim.
• Respond to customers about the status of their claims.
• Assist producers and the claims team with claims status and special projects.
• Answer company requests for policy information when needed.
• Maintain a personal diary system for periodic follow-up on selected claims.

Required profile

• High school graduate.
• Ability to operate under the direction of the claims team.
• Client relations skills to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and market contacts, including excellent communication, service orientation, cooperation and tactfulness in resolving problems.
• Preferred: college degree, prior brokerage experience, and knowledge of McGriff's claim management and agency management system or quick ability to learn it.

Required skills

• Knowledge of basic company computer programs for word processing, accounting and applications.
• Communication and customer service skills.

• Base salary of $37,600 to $70,200, depending on experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education and other factors; possible performance-based incentives.
