Claims Examiner - General Liability BI (Captive), Remote

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a remote Claims Examiner for Bodily Injury General Liability within commercial captive insurance programs. The role applies general liability examiner knowledge to adjudicate complex customer claims and deliver customer-facing solutions to clients across many industries.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and process claims through well-developed action plans to a timely resolution, investigating and gathering information to determine the exposure on the claim.
• Negotiate settlement of claims within designated authority.
• Communicate claim activity and processing with the claimant and the client.
• Report claims to the excess carrier and respond to requests for direction professionally and on time.

Required profile

• 5 years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or GED; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Professional certification applicable to the line of business preferred.
• Licensing or jurisdiction knowledge anywhere in the United States.

Required skills

• Experience as a Bodily Injury General Liability Claims Examiner in commercial captive insurance programs.
• Skills in coverage determination, litigated claims handling, and interpretation of endorsements, nature of loss and excluded coverages.
• Computer keyboarding; hearing, vision and talking; clear conceptual thinking, good judgement and discretion; ability to meet deadlines.
