Claims Examiner - Construction (Telecommuter)

Sedgwick is hiring a Claims Examiner for construction, working remotely. The role applies general liability and construction defect examiner knowledge to adjudicate complex customer claims, delivering customer-facing solutions to clients across many industries. Key responsibilities

• Analyze and process general liability claims involving New York labor law or construction defects, determining benefits due
• Investigate and gather information to determine the exposure on each claim
• Negotiate settlements within designated authority
• Communicate claim activity and processing with the claimant and the client
• Report claims to the excess carrier and respond to requests for direction in a professional and timely manner

Required profile

• 5 years of claims management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• High school diploma or GED; bachelor's degree preferred
• Professional certification for the line of business preferred
• Construction defect experience anywhere in the United States
• Clear and conceptual thinking, good judgment and discretion, and the ability to meet deadlines
