Claims Examiner, Auto | Commercial Bodily Injury

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a Claims Examiner for auto bodily injury and commercial transportation claims. The role analyzes and processes complex claims by reviewing coverage, investigating liability and evaluating the scope of damages, aiming for timely resolution within service expectations, industry best practice and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and process complex auto commercial and personal line claims, including bodily injury, and ensure claim files are properly documented and coded.
• Handle the litigation process on litigated claims.
• Coordinate vendor management, including the use of independent adjusters to help investigate claims.
• Report large claims to excess carriers.
• Develop and maintain action plans so state-mandated contact deadlines are met and files move toward prompt resolution.
• Pursue subrogation and risk transfer opportunities and handle salvage.
• Communicate claim progress with insured, client and agent or broker when appropriate.
• Support the organization's quality programs and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Five years of claims management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including in-depth knowledge of personal and commercial line auto policies, coverage, principles and laws.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Professional certification for the line of business preferred.
• Ability to secure and maintain the state adjusting license required for the position.

Required skills

• Strong oral and written communication, including presentation skills.
• PC literacy, including Microsoft Office products.
• Teamwork and ability to meet deadlines.
