Claims Examiner, Auto Bodily Injury (Telecommute)

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a Claims Examiner for auto bodily injury claims, working remotely. The role analyzes and processes complex bodily injury auto and commercial transportation claims by reviewing coverage, completing investigations, determining liability and evaluating the scope of damages, while meeting service expectations and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze complex auto bodily injury claims, evaluating coverage, investigating liability and managing damages
• Process complex auto commercial and personal line claims, including bodily injury, and ensure files are properly documented and coded
• Handle the litigation process on litigated claims
• Coordinate vendor management, including the use of independent adjusters
• Report large claims to excess carriers
• Develop action plans to meet state contact deadlines and move files toward resolution
• Pursue subrogation and risk transfer opportunities and manage salvage
• Communicate claim progress with insured, client, agent or broker when appropriate
• Support the organization's quality programs

Required profile

• Five years of claims management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including in-depth knowledge of personal and commercial line auto policies, coverage, principles and laws
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Professional certification preferred
• State adjusting license maintained as required for the position

Required skills

• Strong oral and written communication, including presentation skills
• PC literacy, including Microsoft Office
• Ability to work in a team and meet deadlines
• Keyboarding and clear conceptual thinking

• Starting pay of $80,000 to $85,000 per year for this role
