Civil Engineer – Bridge Design (Level 1 Bridge & Culvert Design)

About the role

Choice One Engineering, a Level 1 classified firm, is seeking a Bridge Design Engineer to work on local bridge, culvert, and related infrastructure projects that serve the community.

Key responsibilities

• Design prestressed box beam, single‑span concrete slab, and continuous slab bridges on capped pile substructures.
• Perform concrete deck overlay projects and minor rehabilitation work such as patching, deck joint repair, and parapet safety regrading.
• Plan and design bikeway/pedestrian bridges, low‑flow stream crossings, and drainage conduits (culvert pipes and box culverts).
• Conduct bridge hydraulic and scour analysis, structure type studies, FEMA floodplain analysis, and obtain Army Corps of Engineers permits.
• Coordinate utilities, review contractor material submittals, and interact with project teams across multiple offices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• EIT certification and progress toward or possession of a PE license.
• 0–5 years of bridge design experience.
• Ability to interact courteously with the public, clients, and reviewing agencies.
• Responsive, self‑initiated attitude with a continuous learning mindset.

Required skills

• Working proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
