Chief Engineer (Hotel Maintenance)

About the role

Fairfield Inn & Suites Weatherford, an 86-room hotel, is looking for a Chief Engineer to manage general and preventative maintenance so that guest service and sustainability standards are met across the property. The position leads the maintenance team and reports weekly to the Corporate or Regional Director of Engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support maintenance associates, keeping them aligned with brand standards and core values.
• Maintain the hotel's repair and maintenance budget and keep accurate records of preventive maintenance on rooms and equipment.
• Conduct room inspections, identify repair needs and oversee small projects and PIPs, reporting progress.
• Manage and coordinate bids, quotes and contracts for third-party vendors.
• Perform repairs such as drywall and wall coverings, painting, basic electrical work, TV installation, minor plumbing, and heating and cooling pump replacement and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment and refurbish furniture and fixtures.
• Test and maintain life safety systems, keep service contracts compliant and work to local, state and federal codes.
• Follow sustainability guidelines, practice safe work habits and wear protective equipment.
• Monitor guest satisfaction scores and provide weekly updates to the Director of Engineering.

Required profile

• High school diploma and/or trade school coursework in a related field preferred.
• Previous supervisory engineer or maintenance experience required, or equivalent training.
• Certifications may be required.
• Work schedule varies and may include holidays, weekends and alternate shifts; physical demands include standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds and climbing.
