Cherry Picker Operator - 3rd Shift

About the role

Cardinal Health is hiring a Cherry Picker Operator for its Portland, Oregon warehouse, working the 3rd shift (Sunday to Thursday, 10 pm to 6:30 am, with possible overtime depending on business needs). The hourly rate is $24.00, which includes a shift differential. The role sits within Warehouse Operations, which handles receiving, storage and shipping of products.

Key responsibilities

• Process orders following Standard Operating Procedures: pick, quality control checks, sorting, consolidating freight, building and wrapping pallets, packing, loading and preparing orders for shipment.
• Pick large case items with material handling equipment or small items and place them on designated carts.
• Cross-train in multiple warehouse areas and take part in projects as needed.
• Use the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to check in and ship products.
• Drive material handling equipment such as order pickers (cherry pickers), forklifts, reach trucks, turret trucks, pallet jacks and walkie riders.
• Complete housekeeping and inventory control tasks and keep the work area clean and safe.
• Work on routine problem-resolution assignments, attend associate meetings and report concerns to management.
• Follow OSHA standards and site safety rules, including wearing steel-toed safety shoes and safety harnesses.

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience (preferred).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for the whole shift.
• Previous order selector (cherry picker) or material handling equipment experience preferred.
• Comfortable working at heights of 20-30 feet regularly.
• Radio frequency (RF) scanner and/or voice-to-pick experience highly preferred.
• Must be able to work overtime with little to no advance notice.
