Chemistry Laboratory Technician II – Instructional Lab Support

About the role

We are seeking a Chemistry Laboratory Technician II to support instructional chemistry labs at Texas A&M University’s McAllen Higher Ed Center. The role involves preparing labs, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe learning environment for students and faculty.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and turn over laboratory spaces, materials, and equipment for scheduled courses.
• Prepare solutions, reagents, and chemical materials according to established procedures.
• Operate, modify, and troubleshoot scientific instrumentation and lab equipment.
• Manage chemical inventories and handle hazardous waste in compliance with federal, state, and university regulations.
• Maintain laboratory safety, enforce PPE usage, and assist with EHS inspections.
• Travel to Texas A&M University–College Station for coordination and training as needed.
