Charge Registered Nurse (RN) – 12‑Hour Shift

About the role

The Charge RN leads a nursing unit during a 12‑hour shift (7 am‑7 pm), providing direct patient care across the lifespan and supervising support staff. This position ensures high‑quality, safe care while coordinating with the interdisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care using the nursing process for infant to geriatric patients.
• Delegate assignments and supervise support staff according to patient acuity.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to develop individualized care plans.
• Administer IV medications, parenteral nutrition, and blood products, monitoring patient response.
• Oversee admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring smooth patient flow.
• Mentor new staff, provide guidance, and promote performance improvement.
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient confidentiality.
• Respond calmly to emergencies and stressful situations.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred).
• Current RN license; CPR certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred.
• Minimum two years of RN experience in a related specialty.
• Strong clinical knowledge of adolescent to geriatric care.
