About the role

The State of Georgia, Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, seeks a Charge Nurse for the Day Shift on the Forensics II unit at East Central Regional Hospital’s Augusta Campus. This position supervises nursing staff, plans and evaluates patient care, and ensures high‑quality clinical services.

Key responsibilities

Supervise, guide, and instruct subordinate staff in daily assignments.
Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for the unit or shift.
Ensure staff assess client health problems and develop appropriate care plans.
Maintain accurate medical records and oversee quality of nursing care.
Provide health maintenance advice, disease prevention guidance, and case management as needed.

Required profile

Associate degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
Current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse.
Four years of professional nursing experience, including at least two years in a lead, team‑leader, or supervisory role, or one year at the Registered Nurse 3 level or equivalent.
