Chapter Associate, Southwest Florida

About the role

The Chapter Associate supports fundraising and donor engagement for the Southwest Florida Chapter of Blessings in a Backpack, helping to secure resources that provide weekend meals for school‑age children.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing grant proposals, sponsorship packages, and funding requests.
• Maintain donor database integrity and analyze data to inform donor strategies.
• Lead donor stewardship communications, including acknowledgment letters, impact reports, appeals, and newsletters.
• Coordinate donor cultivation events, corporate packing experiences, and advisory board meetings.
• Provide general administrative support and step in for program staff when needed to ensure continuity of operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of experience in fundraising, development, or nonprofit work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Commitment to addressing childhood food insecurity.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with donor database systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Blackbaud).
• Familiarity with email marketing tools such as Constant Contact.
• Basic design skills using Canva or similar tools.
