About the role

The Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) is seeking a Chaplain I for Graham Correctional Center in Hillsboro, Illinois. The chaplain engages and inspires the community served within the facility and oversees the holistic spiritual development and full-spectrum religious support of all faiths, traditions and denominations present. The position is full time, salaried and union-covered, with an anticipated starting salary of $6,082 per month.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the spiritual development of all faiths, traditions and denominations represented in the facility
• Provide full-spectrum religious support to incarcerated persons
• Serve directly those in need within the facility

Required profile

• Professional chaplain with a commitment to serving those in need
• Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; the state does not sponsor employment visas
• Bilingual skills are welcome
