About the role

The Kornberg School of Dentistry seeks a visionary leader to serve as Chairperson of the Department of Restorative Sciences. This senior academic role will shape the future of dental education and practice through innovative curricula, research, and clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide contemporary didactic and clinical teaching for pre‑doctoral and post‑doctoral programs.
• Direct courses, develop curricula, and oversee program accreditation.
• Lead departmental strategy toward a 2030 vision that integrates AI and digital dentistry.
• Foster team building, mentorship, and collaborative research initiatives.
• Manage departmental resources and represent the department within the university.

Required profile

• Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the US or Canada, or equivalent international credentials.
• CODA‑accredited specialty education or equivalent, with eligibility for a Pennsylvania dental license.
• Board certification or eligibility for prosthodontics, or advanced education (AEGD, MSc, PhD) in restorative dentistry.
• Strong academic orientation, proven leadership in academic transformation, and a record of innovative program development.
