Certified Surgical Technologist (CVOR)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Certified Surgical Technologist (CVOR) for its Littleton facility in Colorado. This is a full-time day-shift position working in the operating room, with a sign-on bonus and eligibility for OR shift differentials.

Key responsibilities

• Set up the sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment and medications needed for procedures, and prepare and label solutions and medications.
• Prepare the back table and mayo stand according to the surgeon's preference card, and provide supplies or equipment on request.
• Hold retractors or instruments, apply electrocautery, cut suture material, connect drains to suction, and apply dressings to wounds.
• Assist with draping the sterile field and cover the operating and instrument tables.
• Perform counts with the circulator before the operation, before closing the incision and as needed, and deliver surgical specimens to the circulating nurse.
• Maintain strict sterile technique, check package integrity and indicators, and prepare and sterilize supplies and equipment.
• Review and replace supplies after a procedure, discard expired medications per protocol, and assist with terminal cleaning of the operating room.
• Use the physician preference card to identify supplies and update it with changes, and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent; completion of an approved Surgical Technician program.
• Experience in a surgical setting.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required; cardiovascular/hearts experience strongly preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.
