Certified Surgical Technician - Contract

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Certified Surgical Technician for a contract position in Parker, Colorado. The role is offered through the StaffFlex program, which lets nurses work contract assignments at one facility or float among hospitals in 9 states. The schedule is 40 hours per week, four 10-hour days, with calls for 6-8 shifts in a 6-week cycle and a 30-minute response time.

Key responsibilities

• Provide supportive care to patients during the pre-operative phase
• Collect and label specimens obtained during surgical procedures
• Conduct instrument counts before and throughout procedures
• Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients
• Maintain the operating room sterility and keep instruments organized
• Ensure safe and efficient operating room turnover
• Other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Technical/vocational school (required); associate degree preferred
• 2+ years of technical experience (required)
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Technician in Surgery (TS-C) certification, or equivalent state certification
• BLS/CPR certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Additional licensure or certification may apply depending on unit or state
