Certified Sterile Processing Technician – Full Time

About the role

The Sterile Processing Technician ensures that surgical instruments and equipment are cleaned, sterilized, and ready for use, supporting direct patient care across clinical and operative settings.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, clean, disinfect, inspect, package, and store reusable medical instruments and equipment according to manufacturer instructions and regulatory standards.
• Perform high‑level disinfection, pre‑vacuum, gravity‑displacement, and hydrogen peroxide plasma sterilization techniques.
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and inventory control in compliance with SOPs and accreditation requirements.
• Provide necessary supplies for surgical procedures and assist the SPD Supervisor or Manager as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training in sterile processing preferred.
• Minimum two years of sterile processing experience.
• Current certification (CRCST, IAHCSMM, CSPDT, CBSPD, CFER, or equivalent) or willingness to obtain certification within six months of hire.
• Ability to work independently, follow strict protocols, and adapt to a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Instrument cleaning and sterilization techniques (HLD, pre‑vacuum, gravity‑displacement, hydrogen peroxide plasma).
• Computer data entry and Windows‑based applications.
• Attention to detail for inspection, packaging, and documentation.
