Certified Nurse Assistant - Cardiac Telemetry Monitor

About the role

AdventHealth in Littleton, Colorado is hiring a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) to monitor cardiac telemetry patients. The position is full-time, day shift, and open to new hires. Part-time and night shifts are also available, and sign-on bonuses are offered: $5,000 for part-time and up to $10,000 for full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Perform delegated patient care tasks under the direct supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
• Provide person-centered care, including comfort, hygiene, preventative skin care, safety, transport and nutritional and elimination needs.
• Monitor and document patients' cardiac rhythm, notify the RN immediately of life-threatening arrhythmias, and maintain patient EKG records.
• Keep telemetry patients connected to the central monitor with alarms set appropriately, and maintain telemetry supply inventory.
• Accurately document vital signs, input/output, nutritional intake, weights and other care, and report changes to the RN.
• Report hazards or errors to the healthcare team and assist in training other nursing support staff, volunteers, students and hospital personnel.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent, with a nursing assistant or PCT program (technical/vocational school).
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or NHA/NCCT/AMCA Patient Care Technician certification, or CPR/BLS certification.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Preferred: 1+ years of PCT experience, previous telemetry experience, CRAT or CCI certification.

• Manual keyboarding and basic computer skills (preferred)
