CDL Class A Driver for Steel Transport

About the role

Gerdau is seeking a reliable CDL Class A driver to transport steel products and materials to suppliers and customers. The position offers a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to work outdoors while operating large mobile equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate diesel straight trucks and tractor‑trailers, including roll‑off, dump, and van trailers.
• Pick up and deliver steel products to designated locations, following DOT regulations.
• Read and process invoices, shipping tickets, and electronic instructions.
• Maintain accurate driver logs, trip reports, and vehicle inspection reports.
• Assist with loading and unloading, secure loads properly, and perform routine vehicle cleaning.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Class A CDL (Tanker and HazMat endorsements are a plus).
• Minimum one year of experience operating large mobile equipment or hauling vehicles.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and follow written and verbal instructions.

Required skills

• Class A CDL certification.
• Smartphone/GPS navigation proficiency.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with SAP (considered an asset).
