Category Management Specialist I – Procurement

About the role

The Category Management Specialist I will support strategic procurement for Best Cost Countries, helping to reduce total cost of ownership across Gerdau's manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Support and execute procurement strategies for assigned categories across global, national, and regional operations.
• Lead RFQs, RFPs, competitive bidding, and supplier selection activities.
• Manage supplier relationships, contracts, pricing, lead times, and key information in SAP.
• Monitor supplier performance, KPIs, and drive continuous improvement.
• Prepare monthly commodity reports and presentations for procurement leadership.

Required profile

• Four‑year degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
• Up to 3 years of procurement experience, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and multiple levels of management.
