Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

About the role

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for keeping plant equipment, machinery, and tools in optimal operating condition. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, lubricating, and reassembling a variety of mechanical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, schematics, and work orders to install, adjust, and repair equipment.
• Perform welding, cutting, and assembly of structural components and machinery frames.
• Troubleshoot and service pumps, gearboxes, motors, cranes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems at an intermediate level.
• Conduct preventative inspections of plant machinery and mobile equipment.
• Operate mobile equipment such as loaders, cranes, and forklifts for material handling.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, repairs, and material usage.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED; AAS in industrial maintenance preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of heavy industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, lift up to 70 lb, and operate in extreme temperatures.
• Willingness to work independently with limited supervision.

Required skills

• AC/DC motor and gearbox mechanics.
• Lubrication principles and NFPA 70E safety standards.
• Welding (stick and TIG) and cutting torch operation.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic system maintenance.
• Use of precision measuring instruments and laser/dial indicator alignment.
• Basic shop mathematics and interpretation of blueprints.
