Casual Security Operation Dispatcher

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Casual Security Operation Dispatcher in the Williamsburg area of Virginia. The position is a 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week, 365-days-a-year presence, including weekends and holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Operate two-way radio and telephone consoles to receive calls for assistance and dispatch police, fire, medical and other personnel and equipment to emergencies.
• Interview callers to determine the nature of the problem, the number of personnel and equipment needed, and check scan status charts and computer screens for available units.
• Give callers instructions using knowledge of emergency medical techniques before first responders arrive.
• Monitor alarm system signals indicating fires or other emergencies and dispatch responding units accurately.
• Update files and maintain logs, test communications and alarm equipment and backup systems, and input commands on a computer keyboard.
• Maintain Standard Operating Procedures with the site Security Office, create Daily Tour of Duty reports, give ad hoc administrative support to the Security and Emergency Services Office, route calls to business areas, issue hotel room keys to visitors and log and issue master keys to authorized personnel.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and US citizenship.
• Ability to multitask and handle stressful situations.
• Government-issued clearance at the time of application.

Required skills

• Two-way radio and telephone console operation.

• Computer keyboard input and logging.
