About the role
The Cardiac Rehab Therapist provides direct patient care in a hospital setting, following established safety and clinical policies. This role supports patients recovering from cardiac events through nursing interventions and education.
Key responsibilities
- Follow hospital policies on patient safety, infection prevention, and safe handling.
- Maintain central lines and prevent surgical site infections.
- Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and provide patient and family teaching.
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments and document all care activities.
- Communicate patient information to physicians and team members, and delegate tasks as appropriate.
Required profile
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- Current RN license in Missouri or compact licensure (GN must obtain licensure within 90 days).
- One year of nursing experience preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 35 lbs and constant walking.
Required skills
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
